Part 1: Values and Online Suicide Study Questions 20 points
Type your answers in the answer box in Etudes. You can type it in Word first to check your spelling and grammar, then copy the text and use the paste button on the Etudes answer box to put your answer in the box.

1. (6 points) Read "Online suicide is tragic, but don't blame Internet" at http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/editorial/story.html?id=285b7d50-1682-4dba-8668-915da3b852b2. Determine 3 values held by the author. List each value followed by a short description of why you think the author must hold that value.
2. (6 points) Read "On Online Suicide." Determine 3 values held by this author followed by a short description of why you think the author must hold that value. This article may offend you. The language sets the tone and gives you a feel for the author's personality. Do not just say that the author has no values. You need to step out of your own beliefs and values and try to view the world the way the author does.
3. (4 points) Search the Internet for another editorial related to suicide and the Internet.
a. What is the URL and title of the article?
b. Does this author have any values in common with either of the authors in #1 or #2? If so, describe which ones. If not, find another value from the lists that this author holds.
4. (4 points) Write a short argument (a paragraph or two) describing how you feel about the role the Internet plays in suicide. In your answer, mention at least 2 values that you hold.
Part 2: Values Presentation 20 points
Use your answer to question 4 of Part 1 to create a presentation about suicide and the Internet. Start a new PowerPoint presentation and create the following slides:
Title Slide: Make up a title for your argument. Put your name and the date as a subtitle.
Slide 2: State your issue and conclusion on this slide. Give the slide an appropriate title. Remember that the issue should be a question that the conclusion answers.
Slide 3: List at least 3 reasons that support your conclusion on this slide. Give the slide an appropriate title.
Slides 4, and 5: Make slides for your two values that support your argument. On each slide, put the value in the title and in the body of the slide give a short description of why you think this value applies to you. Use values from the following links:
