Part 2 Security Wikis (10 points)

Participate in a Wiki about one of the topics in Chapter 9, the section starting with "Protecting Against Unauthorized Access, Unauthorized Use, and Computer Sabotage.".

Wikis to choose from

You will be contributing at least a paragraph on the topic from the information in the textbook or find new information from the web. Do not just copy large blocks of text from a source. Instead, summarize it in your own words as much as possible. If you use some text directly from a source, put the text in double-quotes and say where it came from (the textbook page or a URL that points to the source). The wiki should flow and make sense as it is read. It is like a paper or report that you are all creating together.

The information on Wikiedia is a good example of how a wiki should look. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki

1. Log into Etudes and click the Wiki link.

2. Click on the topic of your choice.

3. Read what has been posted already and then start a new Word document. Do research and write your addition. You must read what has been typed ahead of you and make your information fit in. In a wiki, you can normally edit what others have written. It would be too difficult for me to grade if everyone did that, so you will just be adding. If you must change the previous wording slightly so it will flow into your information, that's fine. Spell and grammar check your information. Don't use any formatting. You format text in the Wiki by selecting the text and clicking a button at the top of the Wiki window in Etudes.

4. In Etudes, click Edit to add to the Wiki. Copy and Paste your text into the Wiki. Save your changes. Be careful not to add your content as a Comment.

5. Copy and paste your text into the answer box in Etudes Tasks, Tests and Surveys or upload the Word document so I know what you contributed.

Part 3 Quiz (15 points)

Answer multiple choice questions on Chapters 8 and 9 in Understanding Computers..
